Myron E. Plett, J.D., Managing Partner
Myron began his working life as a classical pianist, teacher, and writer. He spent most of his musical career in Vancouver, performing as accompanist for instrumental soloists and choirs, and acting as both musical director and accompanist for musical theatre.
Myron turned to a career in law and moved to Victoria in 2007 where he began working for MacIsaac & Company, first as an articled student and later, when he was called to the bar, as a lawyer. With the support of MacIsaac & Company, Myron moved to Ucluelet in 2010 where he took over Jim Roth's general practice, founding Raincoast Law.
James Roth (retired)
Jim graduated from the University of Victoria law school in 1983. He was called to the bar in 1984.
In 1988, Jim moved to Ucluelet where he started his own practice. He operated a general practice including criminal, civil litigation, family, wills and estates, corporate/commercial and real estate. He was an area director of the Legal Services Society for many years. He served clients on the west coast of Vancouver Island (Ucluelet and Tofino) from 1988 until his retirement in 2010.
Roderick MacDonald (in memoriam)
Roderick MacDonald passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from acute myeloid leukemia. Mr. MacDonald practiced law for many years on Vancouver Island, and for a little more than the past ten years he was a solo practitioner in Tofino. Mr. MacDonald had a keen intellect and was well loved and respected by his peers, and by Tofino locals, many of whom regarded him as one of their own. Rod originally planned to join with Myron to build a consolidated general practice on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Sadly, those plans were interrupted by the rapid onset of his cancer.
Rod is sorely missed by all who knew him.
